Is a native of Orléans, France, loves to speak and teach foreign languages. In addition to teaching French, her native tongue, she enjoys very much speaking and teaching Spanish, her second language. A passion for Spanish led her to receive a PhD in Spanish literature from the University of Michigan in 2000. Astrid enjoys teaching languages, dance and singing to children. She practices her singing skills with her two young boys, William and Andrew, who she is raising bilingual. In her spare time, she likes to dance Salsa and Merengue, go to her Zumba classes and play with her boys. She looks forward to teaching French and/or Spanish to your children!
Marcos is a native of Medellin Colombia and learned English after immigrating to the US at an early age. He has a passion for trail running, mountain biking and nature. Some of his other interests include Horticulture, Dendrology, reading and travel. He returns to Medellin as often as possible and has visited the Philippines and many beautiful national parks and arboretums all over the US. As a returning student to Wake Tech with a focus transferring to NC State, Marcos intends to pursue a degree in Natural Resource Management and a minor in Spanish. Marcos is a "Hit" in the classroom with all of his students!
Lician Hernandez is a native of Honduras C.A. She moved to the US at the age of nine. Lician is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has over three years of experience working with children ages 2 months up to 4 years of age. Lucian's professional experience has truly given her the opportunity to enjoy working with children. She has the best time singing, dancing or just being silly. It allows her to release her inner child. In my spare time Lician enjoys cooking, playing soccer, and spending time with my family. She looks forward to teaching Spanish to your children, it would be a fun, rewarding experience!!!
Teresa was born in Caracas Venezuela, and studied in the Universidad Catolica Andres Bello, where she got her B.S. degree in education. She has over 6 years of experience working with kids as a Preschool teacher. She is now living in Cary, NC with her family and continues to share her experience and professionalism teaching Spanish with Lango Kids.
Paola Meyer spent 27 years living in Argentina. She was educated at the University of Rio Cuarto with a concentration in Physical Education. She lived and worked in Buenos Aires and Rio Cuarto for many years. Paola and her family have lived in the United States since 2007. Her family has resided in multiple regions of the country including; Florida, Maine, Utah, and North Carolina. She became especially interested in teaching Spanish to children after educating her own daughter. She loves working with children and finding ways to facilitate learning through exciting games, music and dancing.
Jennifer is from China. She graduated from NYIT, New York, where she earned a MBA in. As a Native Chinese speaker, Jian has culminated many years teaching young American Children Mandarin with the American Chinese School located in Chapel Hill, NC. Through her experiences she has accumulated many years of rich teaching experiences, that has and will continue to help children excel and grow. She loves to sing and dance as a hobby and finds it easy to use her teaching experience and love for movement as a way to educate each child in the Lango program.
Elisabet is from Spain. She is currently pursuing an advance degree in interior design. Elie speaks Spanish, English, French, Catalan! She understands the importance of a full immersion model. Elisabet learned French in a full immersion environment. Elisabet feels that it is very gratifying to be able to communicate with a diverse group of individuals. She is looking forward to having a lot of fun in class, and looks forward to meeting all of you.
Jayshree was born and raised in Gibraltar Spain. Jayshree is multilingual. Her native languages are English and Spanish, however she is also fluent in Hindi and Sindhi which are two India dialects. She attended the University in London, United Kingdom where she obtained a degree in Modern Languages- French and Italian, and later received a Masters in Technical and Specialized Translation. Jayshree has taught in the preschool setting for over ten years and enjoys seeing the children absorb and grow through language. Currently Jayshree resides in Raleigh, NC with her husband and three children. She enjoys traveling, swimming, speaking and teaching language, as well as exercising!
